Textured Bead Embroidery Workshop

Friday, October 24, 2014, 10 am - 5 pm

South Florida debut of "Textured Bead Embroidery"

Create your own bracelet using the innovative techniques Linda developed for Textured Bead Embroidery. Linda will explain how to use pearls, drops, daggers, hexes, tilas, spikes, triangles, Czech glass and more in uncommon orientations to create works that are sculptural, three dimensional and very textured. You’ll learn the Mermaid Tail, Python and Cobblestone. She’ll talk about layering, clustering and order of application -- plus the design concepts of flow, balance, color and theme. A materials list will be available for you to bring your own beads, plus Linda will have an assortment of cabochons and array of beads for sale.

Take a Spin

Saturday, October 25, 2014, 10 am - 5 pm

The intense color and texture of fish leather (yes it is really made from fish skin) is the perfect backdrop for this intricately embellished spinner (yes, it really spins). A bezeled Swarovski rivoli is surrounded with Czech spikes and pearls. The cuff is edged with tiny pearls. It looks beautiful-- and you can play with it too!

Tiny Dancer

Sunday, October 26, 2014, 10 am - 5 pm

A pie shaped cabochon bezeled and fringed with a lush cluster of marquise dangles in assorted color patinas invokes an image that comes right out of a painting from Renoir’s ballerina series. The shine of the polished cabochon works with the rough patinas to create a pendant rich in color and texture that can be suspended from the chain or rope of your choice.
